Qualifications for the Profession

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies
• Certificate of Competency from the Marine Department (commonly referred to as a ticket) at the officer level
• This profession is restricted to males
• Proficient in English
• Patient and disciplined
• Possesses leadership skills
• Ability to solve problems effectively
• Height of at least 160 cm
• Normal vision and not color blind
• Strong swimming skills
• Good health
