The profession of application software specialists is part of the commercial software group. According to forecasts by the National Economic and Social Development Board, in the next 5 years (by 2009), Thailand will need up to 40,000 personnel in this group. Currently, this profession is in high demand both quantitatively and qualitatively. Qualitatively, it is found that professionals in this field have high knowledge but still lack essential skills in business knowledge, system development, and data and document management skills.

Qualifications of Professionals

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering or related fields
• Ability to analyze and design work systems, including security and maintenance
• Knowledge of Oracle databases, SQL Server
• Knowledge of networks, operating systems, application software
• Ability to program in computer languages
• Understanding of data structures, Data Flow Diagrams
