Gas Metal Welding Technician
Performing gas welding or cutting metal with gas, providing maintenance and care for welding tools and various equipment.
Job Opportunities / Market Demand / Market Trends
The trend for those pursuing this profession largely depends on the expansion of the automotive industry. Currently (2005), the production volume of cars in Thailand has reached over 1 million units, partly due to significant support from the government and private sector in developing a master plan for the automotive industry. Phase 1 has been in operation since 2002, and a Phase 2 master plan (2006-2010) is being prepared to cope with trade liberalization. This factor will be crucial for those wanting to work as gas metal welders, as the labor market will continue to have high demand for this profession.
